The notion that experiences make people happier than material objects is gaining ground. Last year Airbnb launched Trips, offering authentic and local ‘experiences’ around the world. To set the scene for the introduction of Trips in Milan later this year, the hospitality community invited the visitors of this year’s Milan Design Week to explore the beautiful 15th century Casa degli Atellani and at the same time discover the personal curios and collections of contemporary designers.
The unique Casa degli Atellani is one of the Milan’s oldest private residences and has been home to the likes of Leonardo da Vinci, who resided there whilst painting the Last Supper. Martina Mondadori Sartogo – founder of Cabana magazine – curated the ‘homely’ Passeggiata exhibition for Airbnb.
