Ree Projects

Ree Projects is a slow luxury brand, launched in 2015 by Desiree Kleinen. The Dutch designer explores the balance between function, construction and beauty to offer timeless, love at first sight bags. Pieces to treasure and keep forever!

After two decades of experience in the fashion industry, Desiree Kleinen felt the urge to re-define luxury by combining an understated aesthetic with outstanding craftsmanship: slow luxury for life. Drawing inspiration from Japanese culture, the expression ‘Hara no Mushi’ forms the basis for her vision. Kleinen: ‘Hara no Mushi refers to a sudden feeling of happiness. Like those butterflies you get in your stomach when you experience something really beautiful. Whether it’s in details or the

overall design, I aim to provoke that pleasant sensation. Something you can’t explain, but just feel.’
The collection consists of minimalistic designs – a tote bag, a bucket bag, a shoulder bag, a big and a small clutch – made of the finest Italian vegetable tanned leather in camel and black. The structured bags all have recognizable rounded shapes and are detailed in a very refined way. The bags are designed and developed in Amsterdam and produced by carefully selected craftsmen in Portugal and Italy.

In the Netherlands Ree Projects is available at Humanoid in Arnhem, Moise in Haarlem, Wendela van Dijk in Rotterdam and via the online store The collection is represented by the fashion agency Soledad Senlle.
